Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in any Europe Awaits Scouting Retreat (“Retreat”), operated as a sub-brand of Anchor and Lead LLC, a California limited liability company (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By booking, paying a deposit, or participating in any Retreat, you (“Participant,” “you,” or “your”) agree to these Terms in full.
1. Program Overview
Europe Awaits Scouting Retreats are curated travel and consulting experiences designed to provide information, introductions, and guided exploration related to living and investing in Portugal. The Retreats are not investment, tax, legal, or immigration advisory services and do not replace professional consultation.
2. Payment and Reservation
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot in a Retreat. The remaining balance is due no later than thirty (30) days prior to the Retreat start date. Failure to complete payment by the due date may result in cancellation without refund.
All prices are quoted in euros (€) unless otherwise stated and include accommodations, scheduled activities, private transfers, and curated experiences as outlined in the Retreat itinerary. Airfare to and from Portugal, travel insurance, and any personal expenses are not included.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
Due to the highly personalized nature of the Retreats and limited availability, all deposits are non-refundable.
If cancellation occurs:
More than 45 days prior to the Retreat start date: 50% of the total Retreat cost will be refunded (excluding deposit).
Less than 45 days prior to the Retreat start date: No refunds will be issued.
We strongly recommend all Participants purchase comprehensive travel insurance to protect against unforeseen changes or cancellations.
In the unlikely event that the Company cancels a Retreat, Participants will be offered a full refund of payments made, or the option to transfer to a future Retreat.
4. Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability
By participating in a Europe Awaits Retreat, you acknowledge that travel and related activities may involve risks, including but not limited to illness, injury, loss, theft, or property damage. You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless Anchor and Lead LLC, Europe Awaits, and their owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, and partners (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from or related to your participation in the Retreat, including but not limited to injury, delay, cancellation, force majeure, or third-party negligence.
The Company does not accept responsibility for the actions or omissions of independent contractors, service providers, or third parties engaged during the Retreat, including but not limited to hotels, transport companies, restaurants, and local guides.
5. Health, Safety, and Conduct
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are physically and mentally capable of participating in all aspects of the Retreat. We reserve the right to decline participation or remove any Participant whose behavior is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inconsistent with the experience of other guests.
You agree to comply with all local laws, customs, and safety regulations during your stay in Portugal.
6. No Professional Advice
All information and discussions provided during the Retreat are for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing shared constitutes legal, financial, immigration, or tax advice. Participants are encouraged to consult licensed professionals for personalized guidance before making investment or residency decisions.
7. Intellectual Property
All Retreat materials, including presentations, documents, and branding, are the property of Anchor and Lead LLC and may not be copied, distributed, or reproduced without written consent.
8. Privacy and Media Release
By participating in the Retreat, you consent to being photographed or recorded for marketing and promotional purposes, unless you notify us in writing prior to the Retreat. Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will never be sold or shared without consent.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and all matters arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in San Diego County, California.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting payment or attending a Retreat, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
